Making up for lost time...

The Carleton Place Legion Kings shed their gear after winning game seven of the Valley Division Championship recently. After team photos with the trophy, the boys proceeded with their victory lap around the ice, leaving their gloves, helmets and sticks strewn about the place.

I remember doing this when I played hockey as a kid. It was always a really cool thing to do because it made you feel like a hot shot or one of the kids from the Mighty Ducks movies. The awkward part was when the moment was over, though, and you had to stumble around looking for your gear and fighting with your teammates over whose helmet is whose. :)

It's so true. I don't think the numbers were on the helmets, so it was a game of trying to figure out what belonged to who.
Nonetheless, we had a space that needed to be filled on page two of last week's paper so I used it. I was really glad it got printed, because we generally use action shots.
