Blast from the past...
Last summer, not long after I was back from Ireland, Eric and I went on a photo spree downtown Ottawa.
While there isn't much logic behind this picture, it brought us great joy. I'm not sure how it started, or why (or how I was able to keep this image sharp at such a low shutter speed while I fought the urge to keel over laughing), but it's a classic.
Good times, good times.

Riding in style
Horses Fleur and Grenia take members of the therapeutic riding program for a ride around the area last Wednesday in preparation for the upcoming annual show. Teens with disabilities visit the farm, located between Carleton Place and Ottawa on Mondays, kids on Tuesdays and adults on Thursdays.

We'll have nun of those puns, thank you.
I wish I could say this was a lovely nun. Well, she's lovely, but she's no nun. Pat Black of the Mississippi Mudds spent the evening singing and dancing in an authentic nun outfit, which was worn for the Mudds' production of "Nunsense." My favourite part was seeing her outside of the town hall auditorium in her nun outfit, drinking booze and smoking cigarettes while waving to passing cars. "Yoohoo!" She'd yell out.

It's Puppets Up! in the Valley...
Wayne Rostad and Wayne Rostad; now that's a pair you won't soon forget. Rostad (known for his local hit, Christmas in the Valley... Remember that song?) and his puppet double are shown cruising Mill Street in Almonte for the annual International Puppets Up! Festival parade on Saturday afternoon. You know you're pretty well known if Noreen Young (known for Under the Umbrella Tree) has had a puppet double made of you.
