I don't want to set the world... On... Fire.

Barn fire on Nov. 24, 2004. Firefighters from across the county, with some help from the city, were on the scene to help battle the blazes. Initially, farm animals were trapped in a blazing barn but were freed very quickly. Whew.

A dog named Bansaw.

OK, so her name is not actually Bansaw. It's Bandit. Others are calling her Bandi (Ban-dee). But she's a brave little dog so I decided to rename her with something a little more... Powerful. So, I call her Bansaw whenever we visit. She was recently rescued from one of those households that should never have a dog (or any pet, for that matter) in the first place.

Eating green

When you eat local, you taste the difference. That is something I learned very quickly after beginning my adventure in the Valley. I can no longer eat at the typical chain restaurant that you find in suburban areas. There is nothing wrong with these places; but with my recent discovery of immune system troubles and gaining a taste for food that was produced or created basically around the corner, I've become a bit of a, well, snob. Restaurants that topped my list of favourites in high school and college don't even have an honourary mention anymore. Ah well. Thankfully, I live in a small town with some fantastic restaurants.
